Week 2 of "No-Poo"

Pin It Now!
Just an update of how things are coming along with my "no-poo" shampoo adventure...
For those who might be new, go HERE to what it is all about. I have been on journey for 2 weeks now with-out using commercial shampoos and conditioners. I use only baking soda/water for "shampoo" and ACV/water rinse (now infused with essential oils for fragrance) as a conditioner.

My hair has made an amazing transformation in just two weeks..

Week 1

The first week, it was soft and manageable but still well...kinda dull looking. No problem. I can handle that.

Week 2
This second week I have noticed my hair through a transformation. I've been straightening my hair for around 10 years now and I could NEVER get my spiral curls back or any kind of natural curl without it looking...well...unnatural. Since my no-poo journey, I've noticed my curls are coming back!!!! This is just the back of my head. Underneath we got some Curly Sue going on under there haha.

Besides the curls here are some other wonderful personal facts about the process. My hair is amazingly shiny, soft, and it DOES NOT smell. That's what the baking soda and ACV rinse is for. No smell. One thing that I kind of don't like (but like I said, it's a process) the front top part of my hair is more oily than normal. I have read many times that EVERYONE goes through this stage where your hair starts getting a little too "Greased Lightning". It's just something that we got to push through because our body is so used to using detergents (bad ones) that strip the natural oils out of our hair. Now that we are producing natural oils without them being stripped, we are pretty much over producing..But it will pass (at least that what I keep reading and telling myself haha).

So if I'm crazy enough (oh I am) to do this and make it all the way, will this convince any of you readers out there to give this a try as well?? I'd love to know!!!

    1. I have been doing it twice week. And in between I will just rinse with water and scrub my scalp with my fingers. I also just let my hair air dry. I haven't been using heat. I don't think I willsince I'm liking my curls again :)
